About Me

OK....this is ME! Bob LaFazia...I love the History of Delaware Football, I don't care if its sandlot, elementary, Jr. Hi, JV's, Varsity...College, Semi Pro or long as your from Delaware, thats ALL that counts with me! If you like this, then that makes me HAPPY, if not, NO PROBLEM...everybody has their opinion! I just wanted to start something that...GULP! I know I'm not going to finish...Eventually we WILL have a "DELAWARE FOOTBALL HALL of FAME" but right now, I just want to get a feel for what you guys want...what I want is a Delaware Football Hall of Fame of just the PLAYERS that played the offense to the coaches Bear Bryant says'... QUOTE..."I never won a football game, my PLAYERS did"! I have no problem with coaches...I have lots of good friends that are coaches...but...I think they should have a Delaware Coaches Hall of Fame and we, (the players, should have a "players Hall of Fame" I said, thats down the road...right now we will concentrate on ALL the guys that played football in the Great little state of DELAWARE...OK!

Bob, thanks fo the "Welcome" and it is a great site. I hope you get a lot of feed back from Delawareans and former residents of the State like me. I'll always have a piece of Delaware in my heart. I spent most of my life there. We spoke a couple years ago. I was a friendly with your Nephew on the Fire Dept. - He and I used to rib one another at fire scenes. You know how the Cops and the Fire-Fighters joke with one another, etc. The "Hosers" as I called them ar among the BRAVEST people o the face of the earth and have my admiration as Heroes in every sense of the word. ....God Bless them all.

For you fans out there of Delaware, Football,, who think this modern day "football" is tough. One has but to look back in the late 40's and early 50's at some of the great BOTH WAY footballers of that era. Bob Lafazia was one of the greater players to come out of Delaware in it's history. Why isn't he in the Hall of Fame?????????? This young man was targeted by all coaches whose teams pl;ayed against him. Some of us put 2 guys on him on defense and to say the least he still mase us look bad. Put a lot of very good people on the bench with injuries that played against him,,,bless his heart. I am not browning him at all..... he deserves his place with the greatest,,, were Bunny Blaney still with us , he would tell you,,, make sure you keep LaFazia off me,,,,and of course we couldn't. We had nothing but awe and respect for Bob while I was at Newark..... please do something nice for yourselves back there and remember this old man that has put this and other sites on the Net for your enjoyment,,,,he desreves it,,,,, my best regards to him and highest respect for his playing ability,,,,way back when,,, Frabk Stewart

Hey Br. Bob,,,,there was a kid by the name of Harry Malinowski,(I think tha's how one spells his name), that was the QB for Sallies in the 50's ,,,do you remember him, He was later a policeman on the Wilmington force. Do you think you can locate him back there. he and I were great friends and were on the force together,,,,still have a picture of the WPF basket ball team that played in the "Y" league . Now there is a guy you want on the site,,,, very knowledgeable of Sallies FB and others... Thanks Br. Frank
